Volunteer Opportunities

Getting involved by volunteering is the best way to stay connected, meet new friends, network, learn, and make positive contributions to the success of our congregation. 

Standing Committees

Adult Education Committee:

Work in conjunction with the clergy and staff to administer and promote classes and programs of Jewish education and interest for our adult congregation members and greater community.

Capital Funds Committee:

Be responsible for the continuing and long-term fundraising projects of the congregation such as the endowment program, memorial plaques, the Tree of Life and the annual High Holiday Appeal.

Communications & Marketing Committee:

Work with other committee chairpersons to actively promote the synagogue activities and events in print and social media.  Works in conjunction with the Executive Director to maintain the website.  Represents the views and interests of the congregation and promotes a positive public image by sending out press releases when applicable.

Housing and Beautification Committee:

Work in conjunction with the Executive Director to maintain all of the real and personal properties of the congregation.

Membership Committee:

Work in conjunction with the clergy and professional staff to plan and supervise the enrollment of new members in the congregation and establish a program to encourage the retention of existing members.

Religious Education Committee:

Work in conjunction with the clergy to establish the goals and educational objectives and standards of the Religious School, including preparation for b'nai mitzvah.

Religious Services Committee:

Cooperate with the Rabbi, Hazzan and Education Director in planning the ritual and worship of the congregation.

Social Action Committee:

Work in conjunction with the clergy and staff to bring to the attention of the congregation issues concerning the social, political, environmental and economic welfare of our community, our nation, Israel and the world.

Strategic Planning Committee:

Have the responsibility for developing long-term strategic plans which are consistent with the goals of the congregation and designed to meet the needs and wants of the community.

Ways and Means Committee:

Work in conjunction with the Executive Director to plan and promote fundraising projects.

Youth Activities Committee:

Work in conjunction with the clergy and staff to arrange and promote a program of activities suitable and appropriate.
