Summary |
Dear Friends,
We are a rich congregation. For the sake of clarity, I mean that we are rich in spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally. We are rich because of you and are particularly blessed with several rabbi congregants, enough to produce an Adult Education series called “Our Five Fab Rabbis.” These Sunday morning programs, occurring immediately after minyan, feature our rabbis as the fine teachers they are, teaching topics they love.
This Sunday Rabbi Eli Libenson, who taught English literature in Israel for decades, will share his love for the Israeli poet Zelda. Rabbi Ralph Ruebner and I have already taught; others rabbis will follow! Please come this Sunday. Minyan begins at 930, followed by brunch and learning. Thanks to Adult Education chair, Dr. Esther Javetz, for her vision in creating this programs.
In addition, please come to EHNTJC on Sunday, 3 pm, for “Yiddish Treasures Rescued from the Nazis.” The CEO of YIVO, Jonathan Brent, here from New York, will share a powerful presentation about these treasures rescued from a church in Lithuania. We are honored to host this program, not shown elsewhere in this area, at our congregation. We thank Ralph and Evie Ruebner for supporting this program.
See you on Shabbat and on Sunday!
Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Jeffrey Weill
